RE: Designation of Fr. Bugna as Vicar Provincial

From February 13 to 25, 2012, the Prior Provincial will be out of the country for two main reasons: attendance at the meeting of the English-speaking Provincials of the Order in Dublin, Ireland, with the Prior General and one or two General Council members, and on his way back, a visit to Fr. Roy Ervite, OSA in Louvain, Belgium, who is at present still slowly recovering from a very serious illness, which caused him to be confined for almost two months in the intensive care unit.

Because we are in the Provincial Chapter period and there might also be other instances where the presence of the Provincial will be needed, the Provincial Council, during its regular meeting last January 25, 2012 in San Agustin-Mati has decided to designate Fr. Rodolfo Bugna, OSA as Vicar Provincial during the two weeks absence of Br. Berdon in the country.

As Vicar Provincial, Fr. Bugna will represent the Provinicial Council, together with Fr. Antolin Asor, the Provincial Secretary, during the counting by the designated Tellers of the votes for Provincial Counselors on February 21, 2012. He then supervises the proper communication of the results to the members of the Province as to the Prior General and Council.

Understandably, for major decisions, he needs to consult and get the approval of the Prior Provincial as prescribed by our laws.
